COPILOT TRAINING
FOR SALES & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT.

Sales teams don't need a lecture on AI — they need less admin between calls. This session is built around prospecting, outreach and meeting prep, using Copilot the way a working BD team actually would.

Who it's for

Sales and business development teams who want Copilot to take the admin out of prospecting, meeting prep and proposal drafting, so more of the week goes to actual selling.

Format

Usually 2–3 hours, hands-on, repeatable across cohorts. On-site at your premises or live remote.

What people leave able to do

  • Use Copilot Chat to research a prospect or account from public information, with citations, before a call.
  • Draft outreach emails, follow-ups and proposal sections in the organisation's own tone, starting from a brief rather than a blank page.
  • Use Copilot in Outlook to prepare for a meeting by summarising the email history with that contact.
  • Turn a pipeline spreadsheet into a plain-English summary for a manager or a forecast call.
  • Understand where a dedicated CRM-grounded agent picks up where the standard Copilot seat leaves off, if the business already runs a CRM like Dynamics 365.

The session, module by module

What we cover.

  1. Module 1

    Copilot for prospecting

Web-grounded research with citations, and the habit of sanity-checking a claim before it's repeated on a call.

  2. Module 2

    Drafting outreach and proposals

Live practice drafting a real outreach email and a proposal section, in the business's own tone rather than a generic template.

  3. Module 3

Meeting prep from your own mailbox

Using Copilot in Outlook to summarise the email and calendar history with a contact before walking into a meeting.

  4. Module 4

    Pipeline and forecast summaries

Turning a pipeline spreadsheet into a short, plain-English update — and flagging deals with no recent activity.

  5. Module 5

    Where a CRM-grounded agent fits

An honest scoping conversation: what a standard Copilot seat already covers versus a purpose-built Sales agent or Copilot Studio agent grounded on CRM data, which is a separate, metered project rather than a training-day skill.

Prompts we practise in the room

Real tasks, not demo tricks.

  • Prospect research

Summarise what's publicly known about this company's recent expansion, with sources, so I can reference it on a first call.

  • Outreach email

Draft a short follow-up email to this prospect referencing our conversation about their warehouse move, no more than four sentences.

  • Meeting prep

Summarise my email history with this contact over the past six months and flag anything still unresolved.

  • Pipeline summary

Turn this pipeline spreadsheet into a five-bullet summary for my manager, flagging any deal with no activity in three weeks.

Licences: what attendees need

Copilot Chat in Outlook already grounds on a signed-in user's own mail, calendar and meeting history without a paid seat, which covers most of the meeting-prep work in this session. Prospecting and drafting through Copilot Chat's web grounding is free with any work account. A dedicated Sales agent that grounds on CRM records (Dynamics 365 or similar) is a separate Microsoft product, licensed and configured on its own — we'll flag if that's a fit, but it's outside this session's scope.

FAQ — Copilot for sales & business development

Before you book this session.

How many people can go through this together?
We keep groups small enough to be hands-on — tell us your headcount and we'll suggest cohorts.
Can this be customised to our sales collateral and tone?
Yes — send us a real outreach email and a proposal template beforehand and we'll build the exercises around them.
Do sales staff need a Copilot licence to attend?
Not for the Outlook and prospecting exercises. A paid seat helps for the deeper Excel pipeline work, which we'll confirm before the day.
Does this cover our CRM?
Not directly — a CRM-grounded agent is a separate, scoped project. This session covers what a standard Copilot seat can already do for sales work, and we'll tell you honestly if your CRM needs more than that.
Can you run this on-site?
Yes. We have offices in Brisbane, Mackay, Townsville and Adelaide and run on-site sessions at client premises in those cities as standard; elsewhere in Australia on-site is arranged case by case, or we run it live remote.
What happens after the session?
The prompt set we used and a short note on whether a CRM-grounded agent is worth scoping separately.
