Australian Availability and Options
The Microsoft-sold Domestic Calling Plan is available for Teams Phone with Calling Plan in Australia. While simpler than Direct Routing, it’s less flexible and potentially more expensive for organisations with high international calling volumes. Direct Routing offers greater control and cost optimisation, but requires a Session Border Controller (SBC) and technical expertise. Operator Connect is an alternative, providing a managed telephony service from a local provider, which may offer advantages in terms of support and integration with existing systems.
