Managed IT for the Redlands.
Built for the bayside, the islands and the commute.

Frontrow runs managed IT, Microsoft 365 and cyber security for Redland City — the trades and wholesalers in Capalaba's industrial zones, the practices and professional firms around Cleveland and Redland Hospital, the ferry, marine and accommodation operators serving North Stradbroke and the bay islands, and the small businesses spread from Victoria Point to Redland Bay. Supported from Frontrow's Brisbane office, about 25 km from Cleveland.

Why local knowledge matters

The difference understanding the Redlands makes.

The Redlands has no single city centre, a workforce that commutes to Brisbane, and island communities reached only by ferry. The provider that designs for those realities answers a different way to the one selling a one-size template from an inner-city office.

A provider emails you a plan that assumes every site is on the mainland, every staff member sits in one office and a site visit is a walk down the corridor.

Frontrow runs IT for Redlands businesses with senior engineers, devices designed to be managed across the water, and on-site work backed from a real Brisbane office 25 km away.

A provider that understands a bayside city with islands and plans for it, not one surprised by it.

Honest about the address

No Redlands shopfront. Senior delivery either way.

Frontrow's offices are in Brisbane, Mackay, Townsville and Adelaide — not Cleveland or Capalaba. Rather than pretend otherwise, Frontrow supports the Redlands from its Brisbane office at Level 1, 355 Queen Street, and schedules on-site visits when a job genuinely needs hands on the ground. From the CBD, the bayside is a short drive; the islands are a ferry timetable, and Frontrow plans around it.

Frontrow has been a Microsoft Partner since 2018, with Modern Work and AI specialisation and a 5× Microsoft MVP on the team. For monitoring, Microsoft 365, Essential Eight and Copilot work, that depth reaches a Redlands business the same way it reaches a Brisbane one — the senior architect on the call, wherever the desk happens to be.

  • Commercial and light industrial at Capalaba

Capalaba is the second most populous suburb in the Redlands, with two shopping malls, a major bus station and light industrial zones where Tingalpa Creek marks the border with Brisbane. The trades, wholesalers, workshops and service businesses in those estates run on job-management software, a Microsoft 365 tenant and a handful of devices in vans. Frontrow manages that stack as one surface — monitored, patched, backed up — so the owner isn't the IT department.

  • Health, professional services and council at Cleveland

Cleveland is the Redland City Council seat and the city's transport hub for Moreton Bay, with Redland Hospital on Weippin Street alongside a private hospital and residential care on the same site. The GP practices, specialists, allied health, law and accounting firms that cluster around a centre like that carry patient and client data obligations. Frontrow runs Microsoft 365, backups and Essential Eight aligned controls so a practice can prove its posture, rather than claim it.

  • The bayside and the islands

Redland City markets itself as the Redlands Coast for good reason: 335 km of coastline once the islands are counted. Toondah Harbour at Cleveland runs the water taxis and vehicle ferries to Dunwich on North Stradbroke Island, where tourism is a major and growing industry alongside more than 60 years of sand mining; Victoria Point serves Coochiemudlo; and Redland Bay is the port for Russell, Macleay, Karragarra and Lamb islands, home to more than 7,600 permanent residents at the 2021 census with no bridge to the mainland. Accommodation, marine, ferry and island businesses need IT that works across water.

  • Small business across a city with no single centre

The Redlands is suburban and coastal communities around Capalaba, Cleveland, Victoria Point, Thornlands and Redland Bay rather than one CBD, and ABS counted about 12,900 businesses in the Redland LGA at June 2025 — most of them small and spread across the bayside. Frontrow runs IT for the builders, childcare operators, retailers, clinics and consultancies that make up that number, with the same senior people and the same security posture whichever suburb the office is in.

Designed for the Redlands

Built for a city on the edge of the bay.

A national MSP can sell a generic plan and a local one can sell a local address. Frontrow brings senior Microsoft and cyber depth to a city where ferries leave Toondah Harbour for Dunwich, where thousands of people live on islands with no bridge, and where much of the workforce drives into Brisbane every morning. Frontrow services the neighbours the same way — including Brisbane to the west and the Gold Coast to the south.

  • Backed from the Brisbane CBD office

Frontrow has no Redlands shopfront. The Redlands is supported from the Brisbane office at Level 1, 355 Queen Street, roughly 25 km from Cleveland, which is close enough that an engineer can be on the bayside the same day. Day-to-day support and monitoring run remotely, with on-site visits scheduled when hands-on work genuinely needs them.

  • Designed for island sites

A business with a mainland office and an island site — a resort at Point Lookout, a trade crew on Russell Island, a ferry operation at Redland Bay — can't send someone across on a barge every time a laptop misbehaves. Frontrow designs Intune, Conditional Access and Teams so island devices are managed remotely, offline-then-sync is the default, and a slow link on the water doesn't break the model.

  • Honest about connectivity

A Capalaba industrial unit and a holiday-let office on North Stradbroke don't get the same link. Frontrow scopes connectivity from what each address can actually get — fixed-line where it exists, business-grade wireless or 4G/5G failover where it doesn't — rather than from a capital-city assumption.

  • Built for the Brisbane commute

Cleveland is about 25 km east-south-east of Brisbane and Victoria Point about 33 km south-east, so plenty of Redlands businesses have staff, clients and a second office in the city. Frontrow already services Brisbane from the same team, so a split operation gets one provider, one security posture and one number to call.

Business continuity

When the ferry stops, the business shouldn't.

Continuity on the bayside has a shape of its own. The Southern Moreton Bay islands have no bridge to the mainland, so a cancelled barge or a storm across the bay cuts a site off in a way a suburban office never experiences. A server on the island, or a laptop that only works when it can see the office network, becomes the single point of failure.

Summer storms, power outages and a cut water link do the same thing to a Capalaba workshop or a Cleveland practice: days without access to the systems the business runs on. Continuity should be designed before the warning, not after it, and it starts with where the systems live.

  • Cloud-first, site-optional

If the office is unreachable, work shouldn't stop with it. Frontrow puts identity, files and phones in Microsoft 365 — not on a server in a unit at Capalaba or an office on the island — so staff keep working from wherever they are.

  • Backups on the other side of the water

Off-site, geographically separate backups with tested restores and documented RTO/RPO. A backup drive in the same building as the server is not a continuity plan on an island.

  • Power & connectivity failover

UPS on the comms rack, 4G/5G failover on the router, and a written plan for who calls whom and what comes back first — designed so a marina office, a clinic or a holiday-let operator rides out an outage instead of going dark with it.

How it starts

A scoping conversation, not a sales pitch.

The first call with a Redlands business is a scoping conversation: what's in the environment, what's covered, what isn't, and what a monthly cost looks like. Frontrow puts a senior consultant on that call, not an account manager reading from a script. Read how the managed services model works, or what it means to work with a Microsoft Partner in Brisbane.

  • Connectivity scoped honestly

Frontrow quotes from what each address can actually get — fixed-line where it exists, business-grade wireless or 4G/5G failover where it doesn't — and builds offline tolerance in from the start rather than promising fibre the street can't order.

  • Built for split sites

An office in Cleveland, a workshop in Capalaba, a crew on Russell Island and an accountant in the Brisbane CBD — they don't all get the same link or the same device. Frontrow designs SharePoint, Teams and Intune for mixed sites and mixed connectivity, so the slowest site in the fleet isn't the one that breaks the model.

Co-managed option

Got an internal IT lead? Frontrow slots in around them.

Plenty of Redlands operations already have someone who keeps the lights on. Frontrow co-manages — taking the out-of-hours, the Microsoft depth, the security and the specialist project work — and hands back the day-to-day that team wants to keep. Fully managed if there's no internal IT at all.

  • Predictable monthly cost

Fixed scope, fixed price, fixed SLA. Project work is scoped separately, never slipped in through support.

  • Board-grade reporting

Monthly reports an executive team can read — Essential Eight posture, ticket trends, risk — not a ticket dump.

FAQ — the Redlands

What Redlands businesses ask Frontrow.

Do you have an office in the Redlands?
No — Frontrow's offices are in Brisbane, Mackay, Townsville and Adelaide. The Redlands is supported from the Brisbane office at Level 1, 355 Queen Street, with on-site visits scheduled when work genuinely needs hands on the ground. The honest version: most managed IT is delivered remotely regardless of address, and Frontrow won't claim a Cleveland or Capalaba shopfront it doesn't have.
If you're not local, why use Frontrow over a Redlands IT provider?
Depth, and proximity in practice. Frontrow has been a Microsoft Partner since 2018 with Modern Work and AI specialisation and a 5× Microsoft MVP on the team — senior capability a single-office bayside provider often can't keep on staff. And the Brisbane CBD is about 25 km from Cleveland, so when a site visit is needed it happens the same day, not next week.
What kind of Redlands businesses do you run IT for?
Trades, wholesalers and workshops in the Capalaba industrial zones, medical, allied health, legal and accounting practices around Cleveland and the Redland Hospital precinct, accommodation, marine and ferry operators serving North Stradbroke and the Southern Moreton Bay islands, and the builders, childcare operators and retailers spread across Victoria Point, Thornlands and Redland Bay. Anywhere senior, security-led managed IT matters more than a local address.
Can you support a business with a site on North Stradbroke or the bay islands?
Yes — that's a design problem Frontrow plans for rather than discovers. Devices on the islands are enrolled in Intune and managed remotely, Conditional Access and identity are set up so staff work from a mainland office, a ferry or a holiday-let office with the same protections, and SharePoint and Teams are configured for offline-then-sync so a slow link across the water doesn't stop work. On-site visits are scheduled around the ferry timetable when they're genuinely needed.
We're a medical practice near Redland Hospital — what does managed IT look like for us?
Patient data obligations first. Frontrow runs the Microsoft 365 tenant with Essential Eight aligned controls — MFA, patching, application control, restricted admin privilege, tested backups — and handles vendor liaison for the practice-management and clinical software so the software vendor, the pathology link and the ISP get one call from Frontrow rather than three from the practice manager. Monthly reporting shows the posture in a form a practice owner or an auditor can read.
How do you plan for continuity on the bayside?
Cloud-first. Identity, files and phones live in Microsoft 365 rather than on a server in a Capalaba unit or a Cleveland office, backups are off-site and geographically separate with tested restores, and a written continuity plan names who calls whom and what comes back first — so a storm, a power outage or a cut ferry service interrupts the day, not the business.
Some of our machines are still on Windows 10 — is that a problem?
It's a countdown. Windows 10 reached end of support in October 2025, and Extended Security Updates only buy time — at a rising price. Managed clients get a planned, budgeted upgrade path through Intune instead of a surprise, and the devices that genuinely need replacing are identified before they become an audit finding.
Is this fully managed, or can you co-manage with our internal IT person?
Either. Frontrow runs IT fully managed for businesses without an internal team, and co-manages for those with an IT lead — taking the out-of-hours, the Microsoft depth and the specialist work, and handing back the day-to-day they want to keep.
