Managed IT for the Gold Coast.
Built for a health, marine and visitor economy.

Frontrow runs managed IT, Microsoft 365 and cyber security for Gold Coast businesses — the health and allied-health cluster around the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct at Southport, the 250-hectare marine precinct at Coomera, tourism and hospitality operators, and the construction and professional firms behind them. Delivered by senior, certified people from Brisbane, about an hour up the M1 — close enough that on-site visits are genuinely practical.

Why local knowledge matters

The difference regional understanding makes.

The Gold Coast runs at holiday pace — clinics that can't pause, refit yards working on other people's multi-million-dollar vessels, and operators whose busiest fortnight is everyone else's break. The provider that plans for those realities answers a different way to the one selling a one-size template.

A generic MSP quotes you a plan priced for a quiet office — then goes quiet themselves in the school holidays, exactly when your systems are busiest.

Frontrow runs IT for Gold Coast businesses with senior engineers, 24/7 monitoring, and an on-site schedule backed from Brisbane, about an hour up the M1.

A provider that understands a health, marine and visitor economy and plans for it, not one surprised by it.

Honest about the address

No Gold Coast shopfront. Senior delivery either way.

Frontrow's offices are in Brisbane, Mackay, Townsville and Adelaide — not the Gold Coast. Rather than pretend otherwise, Frontrow services the Gold Coast from the Brisbane team, and with the coast roughly 80 km down the M1, on-site visits are a scheduled, practical part of the engagement rather than a special occasion.

Frontrow has been a Microsoft Partner since 2018, with Modern Work and AI specialisation and a 5× Microsoft MVP on the team. For monitoring, Microsoft 365, Essential Eight and Copilot work, that depth reaches a Gold Coast business the same way it reaches a Brisbane one — the senior architect on the call, wherever the desk happens to be.

  • Health & allied health around GCUH

Gold Coast University Hospital opened at Southport in 2013, co-located with Griffith University and Gold Coast Private Hospital in the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct — and around that hub sits a dense network of specialist practices, allied health and medical services businesses. Frontrow runs Microsoft 365, backups and Essential Eight aligned controls so a provider can prove its security posture and keep patient-facing systems available.

  • Marine at Coomera

The Gold Coast Marine Precinct at Coomera is a dedicated 250-hectare industrial zone — the City of Gold Coast puts the local industry at over 500 marine companies contributing more than $1.2 billion to the economy annually, the largest concentration of marine trades in the country. Frontrow supports the builders, refit yards, suppliers and services firms in that cluster — businesses where a job folder, a drawing set or an email thread is worth real money.

  • Tourism & hospitality at record scale

The Gold Coast welcomed 13 million visitors and a record $8.1 billion in visitor spending in the year ending December 2024, on Experience Gold Coast's figures. Operators live and die on booking engines, payments and rosters that work every day of the school holidays. Frontrow designs IT that stays up in peak season — and gets fixed fast when something breaks at 7am on a Saturday.

  • Construction & professional services

Behind the cranes on the skyline sit developers, builders, engineering consultancies and the legal, accounting and financial firms that service them — businesses running on documents, deadlines and multi-party email. Frontrow manages the Microsoft 365 estate, the identity security and the compliance posture that professional clients increasingly ask their suppliers to evidence.

Designed for the Gold Coast

Built for a coast that runs at holiday pace.

A national MSP can sell a generic plan and a local one can sell a local address. Frontrow brings senior Microsoft and cyber depth to a city with the largest concentration of marine trades in the country at Coomera, a health and knowledge precinct anchored by a university hospital at Southport, and a visitor economy that hit a record $8.1 billion in spending in 2024 — an economy where the busiest days are non-negotiable.

  • Senior people, an hour up the road

Frontrow has no Gold Coast shopfront. Day-to-day support, monitoring and the Microsoft depth run from the Brisbane team — and with the Gold Coast roughly 80 km down the M1, about an hour outside peak, on-site visits are genuinely practical, not a grudging concession. Scheduled site time is part of the engagement, with the senior architect on the call in between.

  • Fibre zones on the doorstep

Southport and Surfers Paradise–Bundall appear on nbn's published Business Fibre Zone list, which changes the cost and availability of enterprise-grade fibre for premises inside those zones. Frontrow scopes connectivity from the zone maps and the address, not from assumptions — and designs for the sites that sit outside them.

  • Storm-season continuity

South East Queensland's summer storm season brings wind, hail, flash flooding and power interruptions somewhere every year. Frontrow designs cloud-first: identity, files and phones in Microsoft 365 rather than a server in a back office, so if a site loses power or access, the business keeps running from wherever staff are.

  • Security that matches the client base

Health providers, body corporates, professional firms and marine businesses working on high-value assets all attract security expectations — from regulators, insurers and their own clients. Frontrow aligns controls to the Essential Eight and reports posture in terms a board or a supplier questionnaire will accept.

Business continuity

Storm season is a calendar item. Design for it.

South East Queensland's summer storm season brings wind, hail, flash flooding and power interruptions somewhere on the coast every year. For a clinic mid-session, a refit yard mid-job or an operator mid-school-holidays, the exposure isn't only the weather — it's what an unreachable site, a power interruption or a cut link does to work that can't wait for it to pass.

Continuity should be designed before the next storm cell forms, not after it.

  • Cloud-first, site-optional

If the office is unreachable, work shouldn't stop with it. Frontrow puts identity, files and phones in Microsoft 365 — not on a server in a back office — so staff keep working from wherever they are.

  • Backups somewhere else

Off-site, geographically separate backups with tested restores and documented RTO/RPO. A backup drive in the same building as the server is not a continuity plan.

  • Power & connectivity failover

UPS on the comms rack, mobile-broadband failover on the router, and a documented plan for who calls whom and what comes back first — designed so a practice, yard or venue rides out an interruption instead of going dark with it.

Plan it with real numbers

Free tools before you talk to anyone.

Frontrow publishes the tools it uses in scoping conversations, free and without a sign-up wall — so a Gold Coast business can put numbers around cost, security posture and end-of-support exposure before the first call.

  • Business Fibre Zones in the mix

Southport and Surfers Paradise–Bundall appear on nbn's published Business Fibre Zone list, which changes the cost and availability of enterprise-grade fibre inside those zones. Frontrow checks every address against the zone maps before quoting connectivity, and designs failover for the sites that sit outside them.

  • Built for split sites

A practice at Southport, a yard at Coomera, a front-of-house venue in Surfers and an accounts office in Robina — they don't all get the same link. Frontrow designs SharePoint, Teams and Intune for mixed connectivity, so the slowest site in the fleet isn't the one that breaks the model.

Co-managed option

Got an internal IT lead? Frontrow slots in around them.

Plenty of Gold Coast operations already have someone who keeps the lights on. Frontrow co-manages — taking the out-of-hours, the Microsoft depth, the security and the specialist project work — and hands back the day-to-day that team wants to keep. Fully managed if there's no internal IT at all.

  • Predictable monthly cost

Fixed scope, fixed price, fixed SLA. Project work is scoped separately, never slipped in through support.

  • Board-grade reporting

Monthly reports an executive team can read — Essential Eight posture, ticket trends, risk — not a ticket dump.

FAQ — the Gold Coast

What Gold Coast businesses ask Frontrow.

Do you have an office on the Gold Coast?
No — Frontrow's offices are in Brisbane, Mackay, Townsville and Adelaide. The Gold Coast is serviced from the Brisbane team, roughly 80 km up the M1, which makes on-site visits genuinely practical — scheduled site time is a normal part of a Gold Coast engagement, not an exception. The honest version: most managed IT is delivered remotely regardless of address, and Frontrow won't claim a local shopfront it doesn't have.
If you're not local, why use Frontrow over a Gold Coast MSP?
Depth, plus practical proximity. Frontrow has been a Microsoft Partner since 2018 with Modern Work and AI specialisation and a 5× Microsoft MVP on the team — senior capability many single-office providers can't keep on staff — and Brisbane is close enough that hands-on work doesn't wait for a flight. For monitoring, Microsoft 365, Essential Eight and Copilot work, the senior person is on the call no matter where the desk is.
What kind of Gold Coast businesses do you run IT for?
Healthcare and allied-health providers around the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct at Southport, marine builders and refit businesses in the 250-hectare Coomera precinct, tourism and hospitality operators, construction and development businesses, and the professional-services firms that support them. Anywhere senior, security-led managed IT matters more than a local address.
Can you support a healthcare or allied-health practice?
Yes — that's a core Gold Coast profile. Practices hold sensitive patient data, run on practice-management and clinical software that can't go down mid-clinic, and face security expectations from regulators and insurers. Frontrow aligns controls to the Essential Eight on the Microsoft 365 stack the practice already pays for, with backups and tested restores behind the clinical systems.
Is the Gold Coast in an nbn Business Fibre Zone?
Parts of it are — Southport and Surfers Paradise–Bundall appear on nbn's published Business Fibre Zone list, which changes the cost and availability of enterprise-grade fibre inside those zones. Frontrow checks each site against the zone maps and designs around what the address can actually get, including failover for the sites that sit outside a zone.
How fast can someone actually be on site?
The Gold Coast is roughly 80 km from Frontrow's Brisbane office — about an hour down the M1 outside peak. Most issues are resolved remotely faster than anyone could drive anywhere, but when a job genuinely needs hands on the ground, same-day site attendance is realistic and scheduled visits are part of the engagement.
Some of our machines are still on Windows 10 — is that a problem?
It's a countdown. Windows 10 reached end of support in October 2025, and Extended Security Updates only buy time — at a rising price. Frontrow's free Microsoft end-of-support exposure check shows which devices and servers in a fleet are running out of road, and managed clients get a planned, budgeted upgrade path instead of a surprise.
Is this fully managed, or can you co-manage with our internal IT person?
Either. Frontrow runs IT fully managed for businesses without an internal team, and co-manages for those with an IT lead — taking the out-of-hours, the Microsoft depth and the specialist work, and handing back the day-to-day they want to keep.
