What Microsoft 365 F1 Includes

Microsoft 365 F1 provides access to core Microsoft services via web browsers and mobile apps. This includes Teams for communication and collaboration, SharePoint for document management, and OneDrive for file storage, albeit with a limited 2 GB storage allocation. Users also receive an Exchange kiosk mailbox, offering basic email functionality with a 2 GB mailbox size. It's a cost-effective option for roles where full desktop Office applications are not required.

Australian Frontline Worker Reality

In AU retail, hospitality, healthcare, and manufacturing environments, F1 is frequently deployed for shift workers or roles like cleaners, delivery drivers, or warehouse staff. The shared device scenario is common, where multiple users access the same device, making a full Office licence unnecessary. Organisations may combine F1 with F3 (which adds 1 GB of Stream storage) and dedicated frontline kiosk hardware to create a tailored solution, balancing functionality and cost while adhering to data security principles. Consider APRA CPS 234’s focus on third-party risk when selecting hardware and services.
