Managed IT for Taree and Forster.
Built for a valley that rewrote its flood record in 2025.

Frontrow runs managed IT, Microsoft 365 and cyber security for Taree, Forster-Tuncurry and the MidCoast — the health and aged-care providers of a community older than the national average, the accommodation and hospitality operators of a holiday coast, the timber, dairy and oyster businesses of the Manning and Gloucester valleys, and the trades and professional firms of a regional centre. Delivered from Frontrow's Brisbane office, with continuity designed around the flood of May 2025.

Why local knowledge matters

The difference regional understanding makes.

The MidCoast runs on a river that beat a 96-year record last year, a holiday season that fills Forster every summer, health and aged-care providers who answer to accreditors, and a council area that stretches 190 km of coast. The provider that designs for those realities answers a different way to the one selling a capital-city template.

A city MSP emails you a plan that assumes the river stays in its banks, the highway stays open and the power stays on.

Frontrow runs IT for MidCoast businesses with senior engineers, continuity designed around the flood of May 2025, and on-site work backed from the Brisbane office.

A provider that understands the Manning and plans for it, not one surprised by it.

Honest about the address

No Taree shopfront. Senior delivery either way.

Frontrow's offices are in Brisbane, Mackay, Townsville and Adelaide — not Taree. Rather than pretend otherwise, Frontrow supports Taree, Forster-Tuncurry and the MidCoast from its Brisbane office at Level 1, 355 Queen Street, and schedules on-site visits when a job genuinely needs hands on the ground. The dual-carriageway Pacific Highway keeps that practical.

Frontrow has been a Microsoft Partner since 2018, with Modern Work and AI specialisation and a 5× Microsoft MVP on the team. For monitoring, Microsoft 365, Essential Eight and Copilot work, that depth reaches a MidCoast business the same way it reaches a Brisbane one — the senior architect on the call, wherever the desk happens to be.

  • Health, aged care and an older community

At the 2021 census the most common industries of employment in Taree were hospitals, residential aged care and social assistance, and 28.3% of residents were over 65 against a national figure of 17.2%. That makes the Manning a health and aged-care economy, with private clinics, allied-health practices and residential providers around the public hospital. Frontrow runs Microsoft 365, backups and Essential Eight aligned controls so a provider can prove its security posture and keep resident- and patient-facing systems available.

  • Forster-Tuncurry and the holiday coast

Forster and its twin town Tuncurry sit on Wallis Lake just under four hours from Sydney, and the population swells considerably in the hotter months. Many of the area's shops and restaurants run on seasonal income, with some opening in summer only. Frontrow supports the accommodation, hospitality and retail operators behind that trade, with bookings, payments and rosters that hold through the peak and a workforce that grows and shrinks with it.

  • Timber, dairy, oysters and the river

The Manning Valley was opened by timber-getters, Forster grew on timber cutting and sawmills, and dairy and beef cattle remain major industries around Gloucester along with timber and tourism. The Manning itself is a major producer of oysters, with the Big Oyster at Taree a reminder of where the town's trade comes from. Frontrow supports the growers, processors, timber businesses and multi-site operators across the MidCoast, including the seasonal-workforce identity and back-office systems a primary-industry business runs on.

  • A regional centre on the highway and the line

Taree is on the Pacific Highway and the North Coast railway line, about 317 km north of Sydney, and has been the Manning's centre of business since the Martin Bridge replaced the river ferry in 1940. It carries the trades, professional services and retail for a council area of more than 10,000 square kilometres that runs from Hawks Nest to Crowdy Head and inland to Barrington Tops. Frontrow keeps the job scheduling, invoicing, records and email those businesses run on working, secured and backed up.

Designed for the MidCoast

Built for the Manning, the lakes and the hinterland.

A national MSP can sell a generic plan and a local one can sell a local address. Frontrow brings senior Microsoft and cyber depth to a council area formed in 2016 from Greater Taree, Great Lakes and Gloucester, where the Manning reaches the sea through two permanent entrances, Forster fills with holidaymakers every summer, and Gloucester sits at the foot of the Barrington Tops. Frontrow services the wider coast the same way — including Port Macquarie to the north and Newcastle to the south.

  • Backed from the Brisbane office

Frontrow has no Taree shopfront. Day-to-day support, monitoring and the Microsoft depth run from the Brisbane office at Level 1, 355 Queen Street, with on-site visits scheduled when hands-on work genuinely needs them. Taree sits on the Pacific Highway, which has been continuous dual carriageway from Newcastle to the Queensland border since December 2020, so a scheduled visit is a planned drive down the coast.

  • Flood-ready, after May 2025

On 21 May 2025 the Manning River at Taree passed 6 metres and broke a record that had stood since 1929, after 427 mm of rain fell in two days. The Pacific Highway was closed between Purfleet and Coopernook, more than 5,000 homes and businesses from Woolgoolga to Forster lost power, and more than 48,000 people were isolated across the Mid North Coast. Frontrow designs cloud-first systems, off-site backups and a written plan for the days a premises can't be reached, because this valley has just shown why.

  • Built for seasonal workforces

A holiday coast surges with the season: crews arrive, accounts multiply, shared devices change hands. Frontrow manages identity so onboarding is fast, offboarding actually happens, and departed seasonal staff don't keep a live login to the booking system or the payroll file.

  • Honest about connectivity

Frontrow scopes connectivity from what each address can actually get, not from assumptions — fixed-line where it exists, business-grade wireless or 4G/5G failover where it doesn't, and systems designed to keep working through a slow or interrupted link, whether the site is in Taree, on the lake at Forster or up the valley at Gloucester.

Business continuity

The Manning beat 1929 in May 2025. Design for the next one.

Taree received 427 mm of rain in two days and a third of its annual average between 19 and 21 May 2025. On 21 May the Manning passed 6 metres at Taree, breaking a record that had stood since 1929. Dozens of residents were rescued from rooftops, the Pacific Highway closed between Purfleet and Coopernook, more than 100 schools shut, and more than 5,000 homes and businesses between Woolgoolga and Forster lost power. Four years earlier, in March 2021, the river had reached 5.7 metres and inundated Taree South and Glenthorne.

The exposure isn't only the water — it's what days without power, connectivity or road access do to payroll, resident records, bookings and a supply run that doesn't pause. Continuity should be designed in the dry, not after the warning. Frontrow builds backup, disaster recovery and continuity plans around the events this valley has actually had, with tested restores and a documented plan rather than a tick-box.

  • Cloud-first, site-optional

If the office is unreachable, work shouldn't stop with it. Frontrow puts identity, files and phones in Microsoft 365 — not on a server on the floor of a floodplain premises — so staff keep working from wherever the water isn't.

  • Backups outside the floodplain

Off-site, geographically separate backups with tested restores and documented RTO/RPO. A backup drive in the same building as the server is not a continuity plan on a river that has just beaten a 96-year record.

  • Power & connectivity failover

UPS on the comms rack, 4G/5G failover on the router, and a written plan for who calls whom and what comes back first — designed so an aged-care office, a clinic or a Forster motel rides out an outage instead of going dark with it.

Plan it with real numbers

Free tools before you talk to anyone.

Frontrow publishes the tools it uses in scoping conversations, free and without a sign-up wall — so a MidCoast business can put numbers around cost, security posture and end-of-support exposure before the first call.

  • Connectivity scoped honestly

Frontrow quotes from what each address can actually get — fixed-line where it exists, business-grade wireless or 4G/5G failover where it doesn't — and builds offline tolerance in from the start rather than promising fibre the street can't order.

  • Built for split sites

An office in Taree, a shopfront in Forster, a dairy up the valley near Gloucester and an accountant in town — they don't all get the same link, and a flood can cut them off from each other. Frontrow designs SharePoint, Teams and Intune for offline-then-sync usage and mixed connectivity, so the slowest site in the fleet isn't the one that breaks the model.

Co-managed option

Got an internal IT lead? Frontrow slots in around them.

Plenty of MidCoast operations already have someone who keeps the lights on. Frontrow co-manages — taking the out-of-hours, the Microsoft depth, the security and the specialist project work — and hands back the day-to-day that team wants to keep. Fully managed if there's no internal IT at all.

  • Predictable monthly cost

Fixed scope, fixed price, fixed SLA. Project work is scoped separately, never slipped in through support.

  • Board-grade reporting

Monthly reports an executive team can read — Essential Eight posture, ticket trends, risk — not a ticket dump.

FAQ — Taree, Forster & the MidCoast

What MidCoast businesses ask Frontrow.

Do you have an office in Taree?
No — Frontrow's offices are in Brisbane, Mackay, Townsville and Adelaide. Taree, Forster-Tuncurry and the MidCoast are supported from the Brisbane office at Level 1, 355 Queen Street, with the same senior, certified people who run IT for clients across QLD and NSW, and on-site visits scheduled when work genuinely needs hands on the ground. The honest version: most managed IT is delivered remotely regardless of address, and Frontrow won't claim a local shopfront it doesn't have.
If you're not local, why use Frontrow over a Taree IT provider?
Depth. Frontrow has been a Microsoft Partner since 2018 with Modern Work and AI specialisation and a 5× Microsoft MVP on the team — senior capability a single-office regional provider often can't keep on staff. For monitoring, Microsoft 365, Essential Eight and Copilot work, the senior person is on the call no matter where the desk is. And Frontrow already works the coast either side: Port Macquarie to the north and Newcastle to the south are serviced by the same team.
What kind of MidCoast businesses do you run IT for?
Medical, allied-health and aged-care providers across a health-led economy; accommodation, hospitality and retail operators in Forster-Tuncurry and along the coast; timber, dairy, oyster and other primary-industry businesses from the Manning to Gloucester; and the trades and professional-services firms of a regional centre. The Australian Bureau of Statistics counted 7,519 businesses in the MidCoast local government area at June 2025, and most of them run on systems their customers never see.
We went through the May 2025 flood. Can you sort out backup and disaster recovery?
That's exactly what the continuity work is for. The Manning at Taree passed 6 metres on 21 May 2025, beating the 1929 record, after 427 mm in two days; the highway was closed between Purfleet and Coopernook, thousands of premises lost power and residents were rescued from rooftops. Frontrow builds backup and restore regimes with tested restores, documented RTO/RPO and a comms plan, and designs cloud-first so a flooded or isolated premises is an inconvenience rather than an existential one.
Do you support aged care and health providers on the MidCoast?
Yes. Hospitals, residential aged care and social assistance are the biggest employers in Taree, and an older-than-average population supports clinics, allied-health practices and residential providers across the council area. Frontrow runs the Microsoft 365, backup and Essential Eight aligned controls a provider needs to protect resident and patient data and prove its posture to an accreditor or insurer.
Can you support a seasonal business in Forster-Tuncurry?
Yes — that's the shape of a holiday coast. Licensing, identity and devices are managed so the fleet grows for the season and shrinks after it without paying year-round for peak headcount, and offboarding is enforced so seasonal staff don't retain access after they've moved on.
Some of our machines are still on Windows 10 — is that a problem?
It's a countdown. Windows 10 reached end of support in October 2025, and Extended Security Updates only buy time — at a rising price. Frontrow's free Microsoft end-of-support exposure check shows which devices and servers in a fleet are running out of road, and managed clients get a planned, budgeted upgrade path instead of a surprise.
Is this fully managed, or can you co-manage with our internal IT person?
Either. Frontrow runs IT fully managed for businesses without an internal team, and co-manages for those with an IT lead — taking the out-of-hours, the Microsoft depth and the specialist work, and handing back the day-to-day they want to keep.
